Default Convert 4K Mkv files to 4k Bluray

Tenzin is a fantastic poster/admin but most of his posts are Mkv. My LG UHD bluray player plays Mkv files but using normal bluray capacity/speed so it doesn't work.
1/ is there a simple way to convert 4k Mkv back to 4k Bluray without full re-conversion (Dvdfab can't do if for the video format used by Tenzin)?
2/ failing this, is there a good device to play 4k Mkv files?
thanks very much for your help.

Hi there, I have one thing you can try. I think this is a similar issue I am having. some of my files play and some don't Also tried converting the files to ISO format but my machine doesn't play ISO's, which I discovered after the fact hehe!. But maybe if you check if your machine does play iso's, if it does, this will probably work. It is easy to convert them to that and free too. But if your machine doesn't play iso's you are probably in the same boat as me. My machine is the Sony UPB X800 and to my dissappointment my machine doesn't play iso's. But if your machine does play Iso's just use the software poweriso, it is free. It asks you to activate it but you can use it without it, there are plenty of videos on youtube showing how to do it. it is really simple

Some other things to take into consideration which I have discovered. For example my machine although works with a 3TB drive, it is not 100 percent compatible with a 3TB...looking into it I discovered it is best to either use a 2TB or a 4TB. You can check this..your machine will probably be different.

What seems to be working for me is if I download the films as a full disc, I can get it to play on mines with the M2TS files within the streaming folder. IT is easy to find which one it is, it is usually the biggest file. When I find the file I just name it as the film title and my machine anyway seems to be very compatible with this file format. Anyway...hope this helps!
